Basketball Game Preview: Deerfield Warriors vs. Maine South Hawks

Deerfield hasn't had much luck against Maine South recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Deerfield Warriors just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Maine South Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Deerfield is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 60-51 to Lake Forest Academy on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 460th, while the Caxys are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, Maine South came up short against Benet Academy on Monday and fell 51-43.

Maine South dropped their record down to 20-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Deerfield, their loss dropped their record down to 6-21.

Deerfield was dealt a bruising 73-25 defeat at the hands of Maine South in their previous matchup back in January. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Deerfield was down 39-8.
