Preview: Clover Garden School Grizzlies vs. Woods Charter Wolves
Clover Garden School is 7-1 against Woods Charter since November of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Clover Garden School Grizzlies will stay at home for another game and welcome the Woods Charter Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Clover Garden School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Clover Garden School ultimately got the result they hoped for. They secured a 40-35 W over Eno River. The win was just what Clover Garden School needed coming off of a 56-35 loss in their prior contest.
Clover Garden School found their leader in underclassman Hanna Tickle, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Tickle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Harrelson, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Woods Charter took a serious blow against Triangle Math & Science on Friday, falling 67-29. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Woods Charter in their matchups with Triangle Math & Science: they've now lost four in a row.
Clover Garden School is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Woods Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Clover Garden School didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Woods Charter when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory.
