Basketball Game Preview: Momence Momence Athletics vs. Beecher Bobcats

Momence hasn't had much luck against Beecher recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Momence Momence Athletics will head out to take on the Beecher Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Momence is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Saturday. They fell 56-43 to Iroquois West.

Nick Charbonneau put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points and six boards. Erick Castillo was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Beecher suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2024 on Tuesday. They took a blow against Seneca, falling 71-37. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 193rd).

Beecher has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. As for Momence, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.

Momence came up short against Beecher when the teams last played back in January, falling 65-59. Can Momence avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
