Baseball Game Preview: Clarkston Bantams vs. Deer Park Stags

The Clarkston Bantams will head out on the road to square off against the Deer Park Stags at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clarkston will be strutting in after a win while Deer Park will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Clarkston made easy work of Rogers and carried off a 9-2 victory.

Jacen Farrally was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Clarkston's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-9-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Otis Phillips, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Deer Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Pullman.

Clarkston is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Deer Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Clarkston was able to grind out a solid victory over Deer Park in their previous meeting back in April, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bantams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
