Baseball Game Preview: Holy Cross Indians vs. Villa Madonna Vikings

The Holy Cross Indians will face off against the Villa Madonna Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Holy Cross came up short against Conner and fell 8-5.

Ben Issenmann was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Issenmann was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, David Wilson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Villa Madonna had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ludlow.

Holy Cross skirted past Villa Madonna 6-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will Holy Cross repeat their success, or does Villa Madonna have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
