League recap: Curtis extends winning streak with victory over Evangel Christian Academy

3A District 11 recap December 3, 2013

Curtis extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 11 this week by beating Evangel Christian Academy, 40-6. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Curtis took down the Eagles 40-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Myles Washington ran for 133 yards in the win.

J.T. Curtis' team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Abby Touzet threw for 48 and 1 touchdown and Malachi Dupre had 36 yards receiving. On the ground Washington contributed 133 yards. Jacob Bordelon helped Curtis' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.

Washington provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Patriots defeated Evangel Christian Academy. Washington's key target this week was Dupre, who caught 3 passes for 36 yards.

Dupre was the best receiver in the league this week as Curtis topped Byron Dawson's team. Bordelon helped Curtis' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.

Curtis' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Washington has thrown for 556 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Dupre has 34 catches for 607 yards.

In 108 carries George Moreira has put up 999 yards this year.

The Patriots led the league in scoring this week by notching 40 points on the Eagles. Washington during the win.
