Baseball Recap: Iroquois Takes a Loss

Seneca hit Iroquois with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Braves fell 8-3 to the Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

Iroquois got a good showing from Jesse Brown, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Brown has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brian Rice made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Iroquois' defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Seneca, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-13.

Coincidentally, Iroquois and Seneca will both be playing Eisenhower the next time they take the field. The Braves will host the Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
