George Rogers Clark dropped their record down to 18-9 on Sunday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Lexington Catholic Knights by a score of 3-2. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

George Rogers Clark got a good showing from Haddon Cecil, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Cecil a new career-low in earned runs (zero).
