Basketball Recap: Sergio Hogue's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sebastian River over Bishop Moore

After flying high against Lincoln Park Academy last Tuesday, Sebastian River came back down to earth. The Sebastian River Sharks lost to the Bishop Moore Hornets at home by a 55-36 margin on Wednesday. The Sharks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sebastian River's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sergio Hogue, who posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave Hogue a new career-high in assists (two). Another player making a difference was Andrew Simpson, who earned five points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Mark Dadlani had a dynamite game for Bishop Moore, putting up 26 points. Brandon Rivera was another key player, posting 13 points.

Sebastian River's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Bishop Moore, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-19.

Sebastian River has already played their next matchup, a 66-32 loss against Central Florida Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Bishop Moore, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 75-49 defeat against St. Cloud on the 30th.
