Upper Lake had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Lower Lake Trojans by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Aimee Schaefers paced Upper Lake's offense, picking up four kills. Schaefers got some help from Camila Martin and her six assists. Finally, Schaefers was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Upper Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Fort Bragg on the 22nd. As for Lower Lake, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kelseyville at 6:00 p.m. on September 9. The game will give the Trojans their first taste of in-conference action this season.
