Basketball Recap: Thomas Stone Takes a Loss

Thomas Stone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 62-49 to the Northern Patriots. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Patriots are ranked 93rd).

When it comes to explaining why Thomas Stone lost, don't look at Brayden Brown. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 14 en route to 25 points and five boards. Those 25 points gave Brown a new career-high. Terrell Thompson was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Thomas Stone's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Northern, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.

Thomas Stone is taking a road trip to face off against Calvert at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northern, they will host Chopticon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
