Softball Recap: Lutheran West Comes Up Short

Lutheran West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings, falling 14-8. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Aryana 'Ary' Garcia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Emerson 'Emmy' Hayes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Lutheran West now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
