Baseball Game Preview: Babcock Trailblazers vs. Evangelical Christian Sentinels

The Babcock Trailblazers are taking a road trip to face off against the Evangelical Christian Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Babcock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Babcock took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-4 win over Dunbar.

Rayden Waletko made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Waletko was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other pitching news, Brodie Hunter looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Brand, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Babcock's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Paxton Cooper was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian came up short against Community School of Naples on Monday and fell 6-3. The Sentinels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Harlan Haugen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Babcock is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Evangelical Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
