Basketball Game Preview: Smithfield Packers vs. Jamestown Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the Smithfield Packers will get right back to it and host the Jamestown Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Smithfield knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Jamestown likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Smithfield was able to grind out a solid victory over Lakeland, taking the game 69-56.

Meanwhile, Jamestown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 80-55 to Bruton. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.

Jamestown's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-4. As for Smithfield, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Smithfield beat Jamestown 65-53 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Smithfield repeat their success, or does Jamestown have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
