Recap: Camarillo Scorpions vs. Moorpark Musketeers
The Camarillo Scorpions were the 44-10 winner over the Moorpark Musketeers when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Camarillo's tough 38-14 defeat to Moorpark on Friday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Camarillo can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while Moorpark is ranked 111th).
Moorpark's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Cochran, who rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Ryan Guintu also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.
Camarillo now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Moorpark, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camarillo will square off against Newbury Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Moorpark, they will head out on the road to face off against Agoura at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Agoura will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
