Baseball Recap: Carbondale Comes Up Short

Carbondale lost against Marion back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Terriers fell 7-2 to the Wildcats. The Terriers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tyler Karayiannis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Carbondale's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Marion, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Marion will challenge Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carbondale will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' matchup: after the Wildcats face off against the Rangers, they'll take on Carbondale again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
