Basketball Game Preview: Chisholm Trail Rangers vs. Saginaw Rough Riders

Chisholm Trail is on a four-game streak of home losses, Saginaw a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Chisholm Trail Rangers will welcome the Saginaw Rough Riders at 6:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Chisholm Trail is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Fossil Ridge on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Chisholm Trail came up short against Fossil Ridge, falling 62-39. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while the Panthers are ranked 84th).

Meanwhile, Saginaw was beaten by Aledo 52-23 on Tuesday. The Rough Riders were down 47-10 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Saginaw saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jazmine Duncan posted six points along with eight boards and four steals. Duncan is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played.

Saginaw's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Chisholm Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

Chisholm Trail beat Saginaw 53-46 in their previous meeting on January 7th. Will Chisholm Trail repeat their success, or does Saginaw have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
