Basketball Recap: Midlothian Takes a Loss

Midlothian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 71-49 to the Monacan Chiefs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered since January 13th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monacan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Promyse Dent, who went 8 for 12 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. Amare Cooper was another key player, putting up 19 points and eight boards.

Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Monacan, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-4.

While Midlothian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
