Volleyball Recap: Pine Bluffs Takes a Loss

After flying high against Moorcroft on Saturday, Pine Bluffs came back down to earth. The Hornets lost 3-0 to the Tongue River Eagles on Saturday. The Hornets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Hattie Lerwick paced Pine Bluffs' offense, picking up seven kills. Lerwick got some help from Kadee Bruns and her 16 assists. Finally, Avery Gray kept Pine Bluffs' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Pine Bluffs' defeat dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Tongue River, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 26-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pine Bluffs will square off against Greybull at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tongue River, they will challenge Big Piney on Thursday.
