Soccer Game Preview: Currituck County vs. Martin County

The Currituck County Knights will venture away from home to face off against the Martin County Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Currituck County is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Hertford County a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in September, Martin County was forced to settle for a draw on Wednesday. Neither they nor Pasquotank County could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw. While a more conclusive result would've been nice, Martin County got plenty of practice considering the match was the highest-scoring draw the team's played all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Currituck County and bumps their season record up to 6-6-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. Martin County's draw gives them a new season record of 1-6-4.
