Baseball Game Preview: Lamar Vikings vs. South Grand Prairie Warriors

Lamar blew Haltom out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Haltom got their revenge. Lamar fell just short of Haltom by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since March 1st.

Meanwhile, South Grand Prairie has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.25 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arlington. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

South Grand Prairie got a good showing from Matthew Smith, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Smith has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.
