Steele (Cibolo, Texas) defeated Churchill (San Antonio) 38-7 Friday at the Alamodome to capture the Region 4 championship and advance to the Class 6A-II semifinals.

Steele (13-1) will play the winner of the Cy-Ridge/Cinco Ranch game in the state semifinals next week.

Steele won the Class 6A-II Region 4 championship last year, but lost in the state semifinals to eventual champion Katy.

Steele has reached the Region 4 championship game every year since winning the Class 5A-II state championship in 2010. The only year it has not won the region during that span is 2013.
