Basketball Recap: Jason Vidaurri's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Marshall over Brenham

Marshall saw some tournament action on Thursday. They took a hard 57-42 fall against the Brenham Cubs. The game marked the Rams' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Vidaurri, who went 6-for-15 en route to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists. Vidaurri has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Tayvion Nelson was another key player, putting up nine points.

This is the second loss in a row for Marshall and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Brenham, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Marshall has already played their next matchup, a 69-65 victory against Caney Creek on the 21st. As for Brenham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-54 loss against Klein Collins on the 21st.
