Baseball Recap: Lapel Starts off Right with Win over New Castle

Lapel had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the New Castle Trojans 3-2 on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Lapel saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kai Newman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lapel will head out to face off against Greenfield-Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Castle, they will venture away from home to take on Pendleton Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give New Castle their first taste of in-conference action this season.
