St. Mary's Prep came tearing into Saturday's match with 15 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the South Lyon Lions. This was payback for the Eaglets, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Avery Kapeller paced St. Mary's Prep's offense, picking up 17 kills. Kapeller got some help from Lindsey Schwegman and her 26 assists. Kapeller also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Zoey Kapeller, each putting up two.

St. Mary's Prep's win bumped their record up to 24-6-4. As for South Lyon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 15 matches and leaves them with a 24-6 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Mary's Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Detroit Country Day at 6:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for South Lyon, they will take on South Lyon East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
