Baseball Recap: Marcellus Find Success

After only two runs in their last contest, Marcellus made sure to put some runs up on the board against Union Springs on Friday. The Mustangs walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Wolves. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 9-8 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tyler Mattison was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Loveless, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The win got Marcellus back to even at 1-1. As for Union Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Marcellus will take on Bishop Ludden at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Union Springs, they are taking a road trip to square off against Southern Cayuga at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
