Baseball Recap: Calabasas Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Calabasas dropped their record down to 16-11 on Friday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Thousand Oaks Lancers by a score of 10-9. Coyotes fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lancers since on Friday.

As for Thousand Oaks, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-12. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Thousand Oaks' part, Dane Holt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Holt a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dylan Sax, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Omar Heredia, who got on base in five of his seven plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
