Basketball Game Preview: Saddleback Roadrunners vs. Arroyo Knights

The Saddleback Roadrunners will square off against the Arroyo Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Saddleback is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 68-61 victory over Gabrielino. Winning may never get old, but the Roadrunners sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Christopher Trotter was his usual excellent self, going 13-for-31 on his way to 44 points and seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Saddleback's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karstein George, who posted six points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arroyo). They came out on top against Coachella Valley by a score of 73-65 on Tuesday. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won three matches in a row.

Saddleback now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Arroyo, their victory bumped their record up to 15-11.
