Basketball Recap: Lovelady Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Lovelady challenged Normangee on Tuesday. The Lovelady Lions were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the Normangee Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1253rd, while the Panthers are ranked 551st).

Lovelady's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Normangee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season.

Lovelady has already played their next match (against Groveton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Normangee will challenge Latexo at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Normangee will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
