Basketball Recap: Caleb Reed's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Camden County over Booker T. Washington

Camden County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 67-52 fall against the Booker T. Washington Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 244th in Georgia, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 55th in Alabama).

Camden County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Reed, who posted 13 points. Reed is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was David Coleman, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Booker T. Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marquez Daniel, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Daniel is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaivian Uhuru, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 19 points along with five assists and five boards.

Camden County now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Booker T. Washington, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camden County will welcome Colquitt County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Camden County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. As for Booker T. Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Montgomery Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
