Hoxie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Pocahontas Redskins. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15.
Phyanna Echeverria was nothing short of spectacular for Pocahontas: she had nine digs and five aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Holt, who had five kills, three digs, and two aces.
Hoxie's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Pocahontas, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Hoxie will stay at home for another game and welcome Harrisburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Harrisburg will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Hoxie surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pocahontas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
