Basketball Recap: Jaiden Jones Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Samuell

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Conroe, Alief Hastings was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They managed a 58-53 victory over the Samuell Spartans.

Alief Hastings' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaiden Jones, who shot 78% from the field to rack up 15 points and four steals. Those 15 points gave Jones a new career-high. David Temu was another key player, going 5-for-10 en route to 14 points.

Alief Hastings' victory bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Samuell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Alief Hastings will face off against Texas City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears will be up against the Stingarees' rather soft defense (which has allowed 66.69 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Samuell, they will welcome ILTexas Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
