Baseball Game Preview: Dimmitt Bobcats vs. Idalou Wildcats

Dimmitt is 0-3 against Idalou since May of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Dimmitt Bobcats challenge Idalou Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Dimmitt has given up an average of 6.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Dimmitt is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 21 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Shallowater on Saturday. They lost 13-1 to the Mustangs.

Dimmitt saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ga'Quorie Chatham, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Chatham hit this season.

Meanwhile, Idalou got the win against Slaton on Saturday by a conclusive 13-7. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Idalou has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Dimmitt's loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Dimmitt might still be hurting after the 20-2 defeat they got from Idalou in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Dimmitt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
