The Fort Bend Elkins Knights were the 47-34 winner over the Fort Bend Travis Tigers when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Fort Bend Elkins took a hard 47-33 fall against Fort Bend Travis on Tuesday. Fort Bend Elkins has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fort Bend Elkins' loss came despite strong showings from Paris Anderson and Maddie Rhea. Anderson scored 15 points, while Rhea scored 12 points.
Fort Bend Travis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jordyn Mays led the charge by scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Teuton, who scored 9 points along with 6 steals.
Fort Bend Elkins' loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Fort Bend Travis, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Bend Elkins is on the road again on Monday and play against Fort Bend Bush at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th. As for Fort Bend Travis, they will face off against Fort Bend Clements at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
