Volleyball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

Columbia lost against Lutheran West back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Raiders fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 3-2. While the Raiders didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Longhorns 25-17 in the first set.

While Columbia ultimately came up short, they really made Lutheran West work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 26-24, 25-22, 22-25, 15-9.

Hannah Bryda was a one-woman wrecking crew For Lutheran West. as she had 27 digs and three aces. Bryda has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last four times she's played. Nicole Bryda was another key player, getting 13 digs and three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Columbia and nudges their season record down to 9-9. As for Lutheran West, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Columbia has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Keystone on the 2nd. As for Lutheran West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Revere on the 4th.
