Volleyball Recap: Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Central lost against Imperial back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-11.

Sara Morales paced Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Morales got some help from Rhyanna Velazco and her 15 assists. Velazco was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Imperial found their leader in sophomore Carol Magdaleno, who had seven digs and seven aces.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 19-14. As for Imperial, they pushed their record up to 18-15 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Brawley on the 8th. As for Imperial, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Cibola on the 8th.
