Basketball Recap: Daniel Young Key Part of a Team Effort in Spartans Win

There's no place like home for Calvary Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Castine Christian by a score of 61-50 on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 743rd, while Castine Christian are ranked 254th).

Calvary Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Young, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 21 points and five steals. Those 21 points gave Young a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeeke Wylie, who went 6 of 13 en route to 14 points.

Calvary Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Calvary Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Castine Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Calvary Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-48 defeat against Minster on the 25th. As for Castine Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Bowling Green Christian Academy at 3:15 p.m. on February 1st.
