Basketball Recap: Stephens County Takes a Loss

Stephens County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were dealt an 83-44 defeat at the hands of the Elbert County Blue Devils. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-24.

Aj Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Elbert County, dropping a triple-double on 17 points, 13 boards, and ten assists. With that strong performance, Brown is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Dk Winn, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points and six boards.

Stephens County's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Elbert County, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

Stephens County will face off against East Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stephens County is facing East Jackson at the right time seeing as East Jackson is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Elbert County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 91-64 defeat against Rabun County on the 27th.
