Basketball Recap: Alief Hastings Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Amyah Weathersby and Favour Emeka

Alief Hastings suffered their closest loss since November 28, 2023 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Alief Elsik Rams by a score of 49-46. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rams earlier this season, when they won 50-45.

Favour Emeka and Amyah Weathersby certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Emeka dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds, while Weathersby dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Weathersby's evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The defeat snapped Alief Hastings' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-8 record. As for Alief Elsik, their win bumped their record up to 16-13.

Alief Hastings will be playing at home against Fulshear at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fulshear will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Alief Hastings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Alief Elsik, they will venture away from home to take on Foster at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
