Recap: Orestimba Warriors vs. Denair Coyotes
In what's become a running theme this season, the Orestimba Warriors gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Denair 80-35 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Orestimba sure is getting used to it with their 15th in a row.
Orestimba's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Marin dominguez, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Melo, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Denair's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Koby Cervantes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Valente Rosales who scored ten points. That was a full 34.3% of Denair's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Orestimba pushed their record up to 20-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Denair, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orestimba will square off against Waterford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waterford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1239th, while Orestimba is ranked 398th). As for Denair, they will head out on the road to take on Le Grand at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Le Grand is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
