Basketball Recap: Nyanbuot Woul Makec Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Saint John Paul the Great Catholic

Christ Chapel Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nyanbuot Woul Makec out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Woul Makec is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Zaria Gaskins, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine assists.

Loss or not, Saint John Paul the Great Catholic got some senior leadership from Nina Velandria and Talia Mendez. Velandria posted 16 points along with seven boards and four steals, while Mendez dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Velandria continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Christ Chapel Academy's record now sits at 10-7. As for Saint John Paul the Great Catholic, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.
