Volleyball Recap: Out-of-Door Academy Comes Up Short

Out-of-Door Academy lost against Seffner Christian back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Thunder took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The Thunder have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Out-of-Door Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-21, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Out-of-Door Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emmy Coachys had seven digs and three aces. Coachys is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Out-of-Door Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Seffner Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Out-of-Door Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Shorecrest Prep on the 29th. As for Seffner Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Bell Creek Academy on the 29th.
