Softball Recap: Castleberry's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Castleberry had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Lake Worth Bullfrogs 14-2 on Tuesday. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Rand'Elle Conner made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Conner was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Cassandra Martinez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Madalynn Michaels, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Castleberry's victory bumped their record up to 5-16-1. As for Lake Worth, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Castleberry will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lake Worth: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
