League recap: Towers rises in rankings with win

AAA Region 6 recap November 13, 2013

Towers made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,417 from 6,479. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 34-7 victory over McNair last week.

St. Pius X Catholic led AAA Region 6 in scoring this week by notching 41 points on Decatur. Dalton Wilson ran for 160 yards in the win.

The Golden Lions' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Reed Egan threw for 75 and 1 touchdown and Fred Dorsey had 75 yards receiving. On the ground Wilson contributed 160 yards. Ransom Klinger helped St. Pius X Catholic's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 43 yards.

St. Pius X Catholic's dynamic duo of Egan and Dorsey proved to be unstoppable against the Bulldogs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Klinger helped St. Pius X Catholic's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 43 yards.

Wilson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Paul Standard's team topped Decatur.

Woodward Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the War Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Terry Googer has thrown for 854 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Quincy Wolff has 22 catches for 272 yards. Googer also leads the league in rushing with 1,060 yards.
