            Softball Recap: Cascade Champions vs. Cannon County Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Cascade was handed a heart-breaking two-run  defeat in their last  match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cannon County  on Monday. The Champions blew past the Lions 15-2. The  contest marked the Champions' most dominant  win of the  season.
 Jocelyn Laughlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on five hits.

 At the plate,  Christina Bilbro and  Ella Thompson did most of the damage at the plate:  Bilbro  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  triple, while  Thompson  went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs and two  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  Bilbro a new career-high.  Alivia Fannin was another key player,  going 2-for-5 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Cascade was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .421. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
The  victory  got Cascade back to even at 7-7. As for Cannon County, their loss was  their fourth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 3-8.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cascade is set to  square off against  their familiar foe Grundy County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cannon County will  face off against  rival Community  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
