Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After losing to Apostles Lutheran the last time they met, Calvary Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Calvary Christian Academy Lions walked away with a 45-38 victory over the Apostles Lutheran Falcons on Tuesday.

Apostles Lutheran's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Kwak, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Kwak has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. Jeremy Bork was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Calvary Christian Academy's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Apostles Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Calvary Christian Academy Lions challenge the Cindy Avitia Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Apostles Lutheran, they will host Waldorf at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
