League recap: Palser breaks off league-leading run for Otis

A-6 Central (6 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

Otis's Eli Palser rumbled for the longest rushing play in A-6 Central (6 Man) this season in his game against Hi-Plains last week. Palser scampered for 67 yards on the play and finished with 228 on the day as his team lost to the Patriots.

Hi-Plains extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Otis, 32-30. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Tanner Pflager put up the best numbers through the air as Ryan Collier's team fell to the Patriots. He had a total of two completions for 33 yards. Pflager's favorite target this week was Colton Uhrig, who caught one pass for 20 yards.

Kyle Leoffler was the best wideout in the league this week as Arickaree lost to Prairie. Leoffler tallied three receptions for 21 yards. Isaiah Koolstra helped Arickaree's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.

Pflager made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs fell to Hi-Plains. The 5-foot-10 junior recorded one fumble.

Hi-Plains' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Clayton Cordell has thrown for 383 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Justin Miltenberger has 11 catches for 211 yards. Alex Nelson leads the league in rushing with 667 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Indians take on Idalia. As it stands, Arickaree is in fourth, while the Wolves are in fifth.

The Patriots and Otis played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Patriots eventually emerging with a 32-30 victory.
