Softball Recap: The Meadows School Wins Going Away Against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Del Sol, The Meadows School was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights 16-3. Considering the Mustangs have won three contests by more than 11 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dylan Howard made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Four bases. while going 4-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Leighton Bekhor was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Courtney Fonte was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

The Meadows School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 4-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The Meadows School has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.5 hits in those games compared to only 4.5 in the others. Democracy Prep Agassi Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, The Meadows School will face off against Mater Academy East Las Vegas at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mater Academy East Las Vegas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Democracy Prep Agassi Campus, they will challenge Sunrise Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Sunrise Mountain will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
