Softball Game Preview: Edison Tigers vs. Bullard Knights

Edison is 0-10 against Bullard since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Tigers will challenge the Knights at 3:30 p.m. Bullard took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Edison, who comes in off a win.

Edison took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Sanger 3-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Alexis Verduzco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Norah Uribe and Lauren Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Uribe went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Jones went 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most RBI Uribe has posted since back in March.

Edison hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 7-2 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Bullard had taken Madera down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Knights fell just short of the Coyotes by a score of 6-5.

Bullard's defeat dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Edison, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 12-10.

Edison might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Bullard in their previous meeting last Friday. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
