Recap: Jefferson Dragons vs. Gaither Cowboys
The Jefferson Dragons suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Gaither at home and fell 71-41. Jefferson has struggled against Gaither recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Loss or not, Jefferson got some senior leadership from Kavanagh Cooper and Lazzaro Ford. Cooper scored ten points, while Ford. scored nine points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gaither to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayce Humphries, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marc Fransberg, who scored 14 points.
Jefferson's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-13. As for Gaither, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.
Jefferson and Middleton will face off at 8:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Gaither, they will head out on the road to take on Chamberlain at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Chamberlain is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
